Charles Groshong Charles Groshong

A unique combination of life experience makes Chuck our resident visionary and artist.  In the 1970’s Chuck began his construction career underground mining in Colorado, giving him experience in structural engineering.  From there he moved through the trades working as a framer, mason, roofer, and carpenter forming his vision of how a design/build renovation company should be; providing all services to the client to allow complete control over the project outcome.  In the mid-1980’s with this in mind he began his apprenticeship in a modern cabinet shop.  Using his background as a platform in the early 1990’s Chuck began to devote his life and career to fine custom cabinetry, furniture, millwork, and whole house period-style restoration.

Chuck has attended classes and workshops to increase his knowledge of the building trades.  As a member of the Preservation Trades Network he has attended the International Preservation Trades workshop to network and learn from like-minded individuals.  In a world that has been fed a cheaper, faster, replace – repeat kind of diet, Chuck believes that permanence and sustainability are needed in the building trades.

Chuck enjoys watching the Steelers win and taking his dog Analiese, a White German Shepherd found at a jobsite, on walks, when not working.

Jonathan Keperling Jonathan Keperling

A native Lancastrian – Jonathan has worked in the restoration field since 1998.  He is usually given the tasks that require attention to detail, though the crew knows that it is best to leave him alone until 10 AM when his mood improves dramatically.

Jonathan’s contributions as a principle of the company have provided a fresh perspective and insight.  Jonathan has taken several classes related to building trades and wood finishing.  As a member of the Preservation Trades Network he continues to look for ways to increase his knowledge in the trades.

When Jonathan is not on the job site or in the shop you can find him playing video games, organizing music on his iPod, or wishing for a motorcycle . . . anything but working on his own house.

Lois GroshongLois Groshong

Lois is Chuck’s business partner and wife.  She enjoys being part of the supporting arm of the company.  Lois contributes to the company’s success by dealing with clients and helping to organize the office.

Lois is the Chairperson of the Lancaster City Historic Commission overseeing the demolition and development within the Lancaster Historic Commission.  She has been certified by Buck’s County Community College in Historic Preservation.

Most recently Lois has turned her attention to promoting the Lancaster Historic Home Show helping to bring together vintage homeowners, people who supply goods and services, and traditional trade professionals in one place to help promote the traditional building trades.

Danielle Groshong-KeperlingDanielle Groshong-Keperling

Danielle has worked in the construction industry since 2001.  Her duties include ordering supplies for the projects, bookkeeping, and organizing the office and job site paperwork.  She is the person to go to if you need to run down a detail about a project – she knows exactly which pile the answer is in.

Before this career she worked as a cake decorator as assures us that dealing with an emotional bride is similar to helping someone through the sometimes difficult, though always rewarding, and remodeling process.  Danielle recently began taking classes at Eastern University to earn her MBA.

She enjoys the creativity and exchange of ideas that the design/build project entails.  Seeing the project go through the initial meeting, design, and then building process is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job to Danielle.

Often when you call the office you will hear Danielle’s “children” in the background, a Jack Russell named Delilah, and Angelica a Pug.  After work you can find Danielle nagging Jonathan to finish projects around the house, studying, or reading.
