Charles Groshong Charles Groshong

A unique combination of life experience makes Chuck our resident artist and mentor. As a young adult he began his construction career underground mining, giving him experience in structural engineering. From there he moved through the trades working as a framer, mason, roofer, and a carpenter forming the vision of how a design/build renovation company could be; providing all services to the client to allow complete control over the project outcome. With this in mind he began his apprenticeship in a modern cabinet shop twenty years ago. Fifteen years ago he began to devote his life and career to fine cabinetry, furniture, millwork, and whole house restoration. Chuck's life experiences make him uniquely qualified to do historical restoration. A combination of salesmanship and the desire to create cause a perfect storm in his make up.

Chuck has attended classes and workshops to increase his knowledge of the building trades. A member of the Preservation Trades Network he has attended the International Preservation Trades workshops to network and learn from like-minded individuals.

Chuck enjoys watching the Steelers win and taking his dogs Molly and Bernadette on walks, when not working.

Jonathan Keperling Jonathan Keperling

A native Lancastrian - Jonathan has had his hair cut at the same barbershop his entire life. He knows when you have a good thing you don't need to try something new. Jonathan has worked in the restoration field for seven years. He is usually assigned to the tasks that require attention to detail, though the crew knows that it is best to leave him alone until 10 AM when his mood improves dramatically.

During the past two years Jonathan has begun to help with the decision making of the business, his contributions as a principle of the company have provided a fresh perspective and insight. Jonathan has taken several classes related to building trades and wood finishing. As a member of the Preservation Trades Network he continues to look for ways to increase his knowledge in the trades.

When Jonathan is not on the job site or in the shop you can find him playing Final Fantasy XI as Richard Cranium, updating his comic book collection, or wishing for a motorcycle. .Anything but working on his own house.

Lois GroshongLois Groshong

Co-Chairwoman of the ladies auxiliary, Lois is Chuck's business partner and wife. She is also Chairperson of the Lancaster City Historic Commission and has been certified by Buck's County Community College in Historic Preservation. Extremely capable, she contributes to the company's success by dealing with clients and helping to organize the business end of the business.
Despite her no-nonsense manner, Lois has a real soft spot for Chuck and the company. The guys genuinely appreciate Lois' business sense and loyalty to all of them. If you are in need of compassion, understanding, or a kick in the pants, Lois is your go-to person.

Being involved in local theater and the occasional television or print ad gives Lois a chance to let her other personalities out, although she cannot understand why they keep calling her for retirement home commercials.

Danielle Groshong-KeperlingDanielle Groshong-Keperling

Is the other half of the ladies auxiliary. Besides making sure that the crew has lunch promptly at noon (they wish), her duties include ordering supplies for the projects, bookkeeping, and organizing the office and job site paperwork. Danielle is the person to go to if you need to run down a detail about a project. She knows exactly which pile the answer is in.

Danielle has worked in the construction industry for four years. Before this career she worked as a cake decorator and assures us that dealing with an emotional bride is similar to helping someone through the sometimes difficult, though always rewarding, remodeling process.

She enjoys the creativity and exchange of ideas that a design/build project entails. Seeing the project go through the initial meeting, design, and then build process is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job to Danielle.

Often when you call the office you will hear Danielle's "children" in the background, a Jack Russell Terrier named Delilah, and Analiese, a White German Shepherd found at a job site. After work you can find Danielle nagging Jonathan to finish projects around the house, scrapbooking with her friends, or reading.
