The Speedheater System is an infrared paint removal system that is ecologically friendly, will improve paint removal efficiency, and is favored among preservations in Europe and the United States.
Ecologically Friendly: Many paint removal methods are harmful to the environment, workers, and to the wood, such as, chemical strippers, grinding, sanding, and heat guns. The Speedheater System is an infrared system that heats the paint at a low temperature (200-400 degrees Fahrenheit) allowing the toxins (lead among others) to stay in the paint unlike heat guns that (heat up to between 750-1800 degrees Fahrenheit) can release dangerous fumes into the environment, not creating dust from sanding, and removing the paint in larger pieces to allow for a safe clean up
Remove Paint with Efficiency: Multiple paint layers are softened in 30 to 90 seconds, allowing paint to be scraped away down to bare wood.
Uses in Preservation: The Speedheater System has been featured in This Old House, Old House Journal, Journal of Light Construction plus many more publications and home improvement shows. It is so gentle on the wood (helping to remove moisture and fungus from the wood without damaging the wood or traditional joinery) that the Speedheater System is recommended by the National Heritage Boards of Sweden, Norway, and Finland

Want to try out the Speedheater System before making the investment? Only have a small paint removal project? Speedheater rental may be for you for $24.00 per day (three day minimum) (shipping time excluded) you can rent the standard Speedheater 1100-15 System with the profile scraper, clapboard scraper, ladder hooks, and Instructional DVD. Your credit card will be charged for the full amount of the system with the difference refunded once the unit is returned without damage. Any damage will be charged for the cost of repair. Equipment Rental Agreement
If your Speedheater stops working:
Check the power supply: If your switch on your Speedheater does not turn on after you press the button, you should check if there is a fault in your power supply.
Reset Button: If your Speedheater stops working and the green switch is turned off, it could be caused by the machine being overheated. There is an automatic overheating shutdown if the Speedheater is overheated. Make sure that your Speedheater cools off before resetting the button. The reset button is located on the handle and beneath the power cord.
Broken or cracked Bulbs: If you bump the machine into something or if you drop it, it could cause the bulbs to crack or break. Check both bulbs for any damages and if you find any, you should replace them immediately. You can purchase new bulbs on our website.
Damaged Power Cord: If your power cord is damaged, it needs to be replaced. Please call (717) 291-4688 to arrange repair.
If your Speedheater is not performing as it should:
Dirty Bulbs: It is important to keep the machine, reflector and bulbs clean. If reflector and bulbs are dirty, it will cause the Speedheater to lose effectiveness. To clean the bulbs and reflector: use a rag soaked in ethylated spirit and wipe carefully.
